Tell us a little about your business
I focus on showing others that being your natural self is your best self, in my opinion. I also promote clothing and curly haircare brands. On the flip side, I am doing music videos and working with photographers, to help expand my personal brand.
What makes you different as a person and also what separates you from the rest of your peers in your industry?
What makes me different as a person is the fact I’m not afraid to say no. I feel like it’s very important as a woman to stand up for yourself, and if you don’t want to do something, you don’t have to.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself as a business woman. I see myself starting my own curly haircare line, growing my following in the millions, acting more, and becoming a household name. Having multiple streams of income is important to me, so having that set up in 5 years is the goal. I also see myself in film and television. In addition, being married, maybe with a kid or two. We will see.
What legacy do you wish to leave behind?
I want to be known as someone who was there for people. I’m a very nurturing person in real life, so I enjoy helping people whether it’s friends or family, if they’re going through tough situations. I also want to beat the odds in my field. I always felt like because of my age, I couldn’t do certain things, as if I was too old. I was only holding myself back. But I want to be myself and have fun with my life. I’m still figuring out what else I would like to leave behind, but this is my start.
