What’s your name and where are you from?
I was born Edward L. Bolden, Jr (Eddie) but my artistic persona is known as Lew McKenzie. I was born and raised in New York City.
What makes you different as an artist?
I believe what makes me different as an artist and a person is my approach to my musicianship and my storytelling. I am an existential soul navigating through this era of ghetto fabulous. Through this unique lens of mine, I have a strong sense in regards to the kinds of songs that I want to write in my career. I can only hope that my listeners are receptive and acknowledge my unapologetic and fearless approach to my craft.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I hope to be producing for other artists and adding to my own legacy as a musician and songwriter. I have a world of music that exists within mind, so there’s nothing more that I would like to be doing than creating. I could also see myself breaking through to minor roles in film and television.
