Tell us about you:

Joseph Jay Thomas. I’m from New Market, MD. I am a wrestler at West Virginia University. The team and I practiced Monday through Friday. Then, we compete with the top teams in the country on the weekends. The season starts in October and ends during mid March. What makes me different in front of my peers is that I had the most wins in Maryland’s history of wrestling. I was on the ABC news for wrestling as well. In high school I was nationally ranked. I was one of the three wrestlers on the team to win All Big 12 First team All Academic. Also, I was a Big 12 placer with 18 wins on the year. The year before last season I had 13 wins on the year with one of the toughest schedules in the country. Finally, I made the NCAA Wrestling page two times.

4. In five years I see my self fighting in MMA or UFC

5. One legacy I want to leave behind is to never give up. Stay focused and keep moving forward and good things will happen. There’s going to be times where you’re in a tough situation and not giving up is what makes human being remarkably strong.
