My name is Sydmusiq and I’m from a small town called Chester NY about an hour outside of New York City. Being from a small town has helped me appreciate the little things in life and it gave me a better perspective of the world as a whole. With being only an hour from NYC And having family that still lives there, I am able to appreciate the fast paced lifestyle of a big city but also have the opportunity to get away when needed -I love music because it allows me to escape from reality when I want to and it also allows me to get things off my chest in a creative way. Sometimes getting on the mic with no plan at all and letting your emotions run rampant can be very therapeutic. You don’t always want a response when getting things off your chest. Sometimes you just want to say it just to get it out, and thats what music is to me. A safe space where I don’t have to worry about being judged and I can speak freely. Often times, that is when the best music is made. — What makes me different as a music artist is Im not trying to be anything im not. I only rap about things ive experienced. A lot of times people get caught up in trying to seem “cool” but I try to make music for the average hip hop fan.
