My artist name is 22dubz, and I was born in Trenton, NJ but on the SouthSide of Trenton! We call it DBN.
Why do you love music?
The reason I love music is that, since a kid, I always thought of music as an escape. It was my chance to escape from the conditions in which we were living at the time; in the inner city. Listening to music provoked me to expresss my situation in a way that not only myself but, also other people could and now can enjoy while at the same time, learn about the experience of the being in the hood. Ultimately, listening to music sparked a love for writing, rapping, performing, and storytelling.

Though not always professionally, I have been writing music my whole entire life, since a youngling. From the time I learned how to write or put words together, I have been creating music. I’ll never forget being suspended in 3rd grade for writing in English class; sounds crazy right? No, I got suspended for writing my remix to Tupac’s Ambitions of a Rider, detailing my experience growing up on section 8 in the hood.
