FRED NAFUKHO — YOUNG IMMIGRANT ENTREPRENEUR THRIVING IN AMERICA
Fred Nafukho is a serial entrepreneur and business owner born in Kenya, which is a country in the East of Africa but was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He’s a lounge owner, even specialist, and real estate investor in Africa.
What makes you different as a person and also what separates you from the rest of your peers in your industry?
I’m a different breed. Everything that I have was earned and wasn’t given to me. It was based on my hard work and dedication to my craft that helped me become successful. I’m very well connected with a lot of big names in the country and also around the world. A lot of my peers are comfortable with what they already have and not willing to expand their brands and business. I’m never comfortable with one thing and I’m always looking for more opportunities to expand and grow.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself opening a few more lounges and restaurants and also helping the less fortunate people in my home country.
What legacy do you wish to leave behind?
I want to impact the lives of others. At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even accomplished. It’s about who you have lifted up. Who you have made better. it’s about what you’ve given back.
