Successful and naturally beautiful model Dora Rodriguez, chats with us for the first time, about her surprisingly diverse background and her exciting journey this far.
Tell us something surprising about you? I am one of the very few people in the world who holds three different citizenships (Canadian, Spanish, and Peruvian)! So it’s tough to answer when someone asks me “where I’m from exactly.”
Were you excited to shoot for Playboy? Yes! I was so excited. I’ve always loved the magazine, and the shoot was so much fun, in a beautiful location in Laguna Beach, CA, with an awesome team. I’m so grateful for the opportunity.
What inspires you? Travelling and learning about new cultures. People watching, when in different countries, really gets my creative juices flowing. I write a lot and also love photography.
Why did you choose to pursue a career in modelling? I was always a little poser as a kid, and people always pointed out my long legs, so I thought it was something I would enjoy a lot. My big break happened when I was accepted in the running for Miss Universe. After that, I got signed with a modelling and talent agency in Toronto and had the opportunity to work around the world.
Who do you look up to in the modelling industry? Kate Upton. I love her! I love how she is a real woman with real curves. I find her very feminine and beautiful. All women are beautiful in their own way, but I am drawn to her body-type and natural beauty, especially.
What are some of your hobbies? I’m a complete geek! I read a lot, and I like to write, I’m also into acting and singing, as expressing myself through creativity is really important. I love working out, and dancing, and since I’m a foodie, I like trying super weird foods around the world. I have even tried guinea pig, and deep-fried ants in Macchu Picchu!
Name three things on your bucket list?
- To see the 7 wonders of the world. I’ve already seen 3!
- 2. To become a successful Hollywood actress.
- 3. To become a business owner after I achieve the acting goal 😉
Turn-ons
Being a gentleman (opening doors, being generous, the whole 9 yards), being motivated, kind, and confident.
Turn-offs
Being cocky, lying… Not keeping one’s word. Not being able to apologize.
Describe to us your perfect date? The nerd in me wants to say visiting a nice museum and having a bite to eat, but I love it when a gentleman takes charge and tells me to pack a bag, as he is whisking me away to an undisclosed tropical location.
Which world capital would you most like to visit, and why? Tokyo. It was awarded the city with the most Michelin-Starred restaurants in the world… Have I mentioned I’m a foodie?!
What is your mantra? Life is too short, live every day as if it were your last. Seize the moment, and live with no regrets!
