Demonte Thompson known as “Monte”. He is from the Westside of Detroit.
Demonte Thompson is a multi-faceted artist, his first love as an artist is actually acting. He’s a filmmaker as well ,but he has always rapped. In elementary school, he actually had a teacher that would teach them rhythms and flow structures pertaining to Hip-Hop, then he would get some students to rap battle each other or if there was some school showcase, he would grab students to rap over whatever Jay-Z or Lil Wayne beat that was hot at the time. Thompson replied,
“We kept it clean, but even in 3rd grade I was a beast haha. Really though, I won a lot of battles and I made it my mission to make sure I had the best verse in every song. It wasn’t until I was getting ready for high school that I actually saw my being a rapper seriously instead of just an actor, but I really been at since I was 8”.
Where do you see yourself in 5 Years?
“In 5 years, I definitely see myself with at least 1 full length album released, 2 short films I directed, and acting auditions all through my week with a heavy ass portfolio. Enough money to live comfortably on my own. I don’t need everything right away and being flashy never been my thing, I rather lay in the cut until I pop up with a few projects that makes some noise then go back to chilling, peaceful haha”.
