Tell us a little about yourself

CHECHO STAY AWAKE is my production alias. People that recognize me as Checho on stage specifically performing as a solo act, as half of a Spanish reggaetón duet, and from directing music videos for other artists. I’m from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The difference between Checho and other artists

He states, “I’m breaking out into the game 10 years after my career started; when I decided to take music and visuals as a real career. I had insecurities that I broke through artistry and making music and it’s still therapeutic to this day. Therefore, when I make music — it’s for a timeless experience of self-reflection and for others to spit to or to even remix and tell their story. I admit my ego when I say I’m different, but at the same time, it’s very different to see an artist expose rough sequences of what sounds to seasoned producers as unfinished music. All the newest music on my platforms is freestyle performances of sampling my old sounds with my new compositions and mixing in my old beats that other wise would never see the light of day and new rhythms inspired by the last 3 years of my favorite music.”
