“My full name is Alexus Adams, my artist is Midnight Foreign. I’m from Emporia, Virginia”.
What makes you different as a person/artist?
“What makes me different is, I’ve been writing since 8 years old. I take this writing shit seriously because it’s helped the closest people to me healed in ways I never knew existed. My writing techniques consist of me talking about trauma, drugs, street life, happiness, heartbreaks, the lacking of mothers and fathers in their child’s life. I write about shit that people like to keep swept under the rug. Not a day goes by and I don’t write without writing; therefore, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today. My writing was the reason I got over a lot of shit in my life — including the unhealthy relationship with my real parents”.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
“In 5 years, I see myself still writing poetry, I see myself with my criminal justice degree, being a caseworker, and helping the youth become better than their circumstances”.
